Joanna Craig Mc-feely

b. Beckenham, England 1934

Joanna began her career as a physiotherapist; however she came to botanical painting after becoming intrigued by a small very detailed picture of a Horse-chestnut tree. Joanna now holds six Royal Horticultural Society medals: four Silver-Gilt, one Silver and one Bronze. In 1994 she was given the Joyce Cummings Presentation Award for best botanical watercolour.

Her work is published in The Apothecaries’ Garden: a History of the Chelsea Physic Garden and in The Art of Botanical Painting where it was also selected for the cover. Joanna is on the council of the Society of Botanical Artists.
